Taking Care of Denim 💡👖

You finally found it, THE pair of denim jeans of your dreams. They fit you perfectly, with the right cut and color. It’s everything you’ve been looking for!

Not quite sure about the best way to keep them in pristine condition? Don’t worry, we’ve prepared a little maintenance guide 101 just for you. 🤠

There are several maintenance methods to ensure that your jeans stay by your side for as long as possible. The method you choose will depend entirely on you!

In general, we recommend washing your jeans in cold water on a delicate cycle, about once per season. If you spend most of your days sitting, you can even wash them twice a year, but we’ll trust your judgment when it comes to hygiene… 👀

Here are some tips and tricks to help your denim age as slowly as possible:

  1. If the pair is new, add a cup of white vinegar to set the indigo dye on the cotton. This helps prevent excessive fading during subsequent washes.
  2. Wear them often but wash them sparingly. Denim tends to look better and retain its shape when it’s worn and stretched between washes. Opt for spot cleaning or airing them out to freshen them up instead.
  3. When possible, hand wash your jeans. This gentle method ensures that you have more control over the cleaning process and reduces the risk of damage from machine agitation.
  4. For small stains or spills, spot clean the affected area rather than washing the entire pair. Use a mild detergent or a specialized stain remover and gently dab the stain until it lifts.
  5. Consider steam cleaning your jeans. Steaming not only helps remove wrinkles but also eliminates odors without subjecting your jeans to a full wash. Hang them up and use a steamer to give them a quick refresh.
  6. When machine washing, turn your jeans inside out and zip them up. This step prevents excessive friction and fading on the visible side of the fabric, preserving the color and appearance.
  7. Use a gentle detergent specifically designed for denim and opt for a delicate cycle on your washing machine. The delicate cycle minimizes the stress on the fabric and prevents excessive shrinkage or distortion.
  8. After washing, always hang your jeans to dry. Avoid using a dryer as the high heat can cause shrinkage and damage the fibers. Instead, find a well-ventilated area and hang them up to air dry naturally.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your beloved denim jeans remain in excellent condition for a long time to come!
